We promote independence at all times, giving assistance as required to maintain a good standard of living, with the emphasis on dignity, integrity and respect.
We aim to provide a homely and caring environment in which the residents can feel happy and comfortable, with a feeling of self-worth. We also believe in ensuring that each resident is given the choices that each of us have in our daily lives, such as, having visitors at any time, be provided with privacy when required, be provided with a varied and healthy diet and not to have restrictions put on their environment.
To achieve this, we will staff our homes with adequately trained staff over the 24 hour period, teach staff to understand the physical and psychological needs of our residents so they can care for them in a loving, caring and professional way.
Highest Quality Care The Grange provides modern standards of care and comforts whilst still preserving a very traditional and homely atmosphere.
Pleasant Location The Grange is located in Folkestone, ‘Kent’s Garden Coast’, within a very attractive and quaint area. The Grange is a large two floor Tudor style building, with plenty of character. The Home is set in its own grounds with the benefit of lovely gardens to the front and rear.
The Grange is close to Folkestone Town Centre. Cornwallis Avenue is just off Cheriton Road which is a main bus route between Folkestone Town Centre and Cheriton. Both Folkestone West and East rail stations are a short walk away and the Channel Tunnel is only a short drive. Nearby amenities include the famous Leas, a raised cliff top promenade, and Folkestone Harbour.
Modern Facilities Recently renovated and refurbished, The Grange has twenty eight single bedrooms, the majority of which having en-suite facilities. Five of our rooms have private decked balconies situated on the home gardens. All communal areas and bedrooms are comfortable and decorated to the highest standards. All rooms are equipped with nurse call systems, television, telephone points and central heating. Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal possessions to make their room as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
Menu Variety There are varied menus throughout the week providing good quality home cooked meals. There is always a choice available on the menu and particular attention is paid to specific dietary requirements.
Regular Activities There are a variety of outings and entertainment programs which are organised to provide our residents with varied enjoyable and fulfilling activities. We recognise the importance of mental stimulation and the benefits of enjoyable past times and the opportunity for individuals to confirm their interests and hobbies.
We have a library of books and videos which is changed every three months. Drawing, painting, quizzes, board games, cards and crafts are just a few activities held on a regular basis.
Entertainment and Celebrations We are very keen to involve relatives in any aspect of the Home that they want to get involved with. We regularly hold evenings such as Wine and Wisdom, BBQ’s and summer fetes etc, where we invite resident’s friends and families to join us. We celebrate birthdays, Mothers Day, Jubilee’s, Sport finals and so on. We also hold coffee morning’s and afternoon’s.
Personal Comfort & Wellbeing The Grange Care Home provides quality services and individual care to make our residents feel as much at home as possible.
Ashwood Healthcare promotes the spiritual wellbeing of residents and communion is held monthly in the Home and residents are given the opportunity to pursue their religious beliefs.
Regular Resident Meetings Resident meeting are held in our Homes. This helps each resident to relay any comments that they have, and we also use it as a communal get-together when we can let all our clients know what is going on in the Home and within the company.
